15/16thC Thai Silver Buddha of good fortune. His name in Thai is Saenkajai (sp?). He is in a 15/16 century northern Thai style, though it is possible he was made in that area a century or two later. The patina looks correct and the sculpting casting and finishing are all that you would expect to see on a period piece. I've never seen a miniature example of this subject in silver. The test of a great miniature Buddha is that if you take a photo and blow it up, the figure will look the same as if it were a large Buddha. This one certainly looks larger than life.
