This is a silver Buddha, from Cambodia from the 17-18thC. I have not measured the purity of the silver, but it looks to be nearly pure. This style of small silver Buddha was very popular in Cambodia during the 17th and 18th centuries. They often had bases made of bronze or lead(this one appears to have originally had one of these bases). It comes from a collection of small and miniature (mostly) solid silver Buddhas from Southeast Asian Countries, Including Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Burma. The majority Of the collection is Cambodian, due to the tradition of solid cast miniature silver Buddhas in Cambodia during the 17th through 19th centuries, and many were made during this period. There are few from other SE Asian countries, except for Indonesia, which produced significant numbers of exquisite solid-cast silver Buddhas during some periods. New custom museum-style base.
