15thC or earlier Burmese Bronze Buddha in Royal attire. Possibly Arakan, though the face Has more of an early Mon look to it. Not quite as early, it has much in common with the face of item 8439, which was TL tested to being up to 800 years old. Except for the very best examples produced in the 15th century, it is more delicate and has more finesse than the vast majority of Burmese Buddhas in Royal attire that come later. It is quite large and heavy, and has a very distinctive patina to it. I have seen a few other related examples that had this same patina. People whom I have looked at these with have speculated that they may have been buried. Very special! 12.5"H x 10"W - 11.86lbs / 5.375kg ( Base - 8.54lbs )
