This early special kind of glass has precious metals found in Northern Thailand and was mostly made in the 16/17th centuries. Most of it is yellow/gold or clear. It is rare to find in this color. This excavated piece would have been part of an entire Buddha and was excavated in the 1960s during preparation for the building of a dam in the "Hot" district south of Chiang Mai.
