Magnificent large Northern Thai bronze Buddha in Royal attire. It is in a 15th century Style and is a classic example of its type. When I first looked at it, I believed it was an original period piece, as it looked so good. After examining it, I believe it is not an early piece, but it is also not a typical modern tourist piece. The finishing work looks to have been done with old-style tools, and the surface Smooth bottoms to the feet and other kinds of slight wear suggest that it is probably early to mid 20th century, possibly older. The significant size, beautiful face, and classic proportions combine to create a formidable figure and focal point for any room. I've kept it in a room with Dozens of other Buddhas that are older and more expensive, but When I bring people into the room, it is this one that they are first drawn to- 20.25"H x 13.25"W x 7.25"D - ( Knees 9") - 12.27lbs / 5.565kg
